Robert Moore

Robert Moore, who currently resides in Saint John taught American literature and literary theory at the University of New Brunswick. Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Robert began his journey in the arts as an actor. He later wrote plays, published several books of poetry, and eventually embraced painting. One of his favorite quotes about painting comes from John Singer Sargent: “A portrait is a painting with something wrong with the mouth.”

Commissioning Artwork by Robert Moore: Information Guide

Thank you for your interest in commissioning a unique piece of art by Robert Moore through Tuck Studio. Here is an overview of how the commissioning process works, including important details about payment, revisions, copyright, and more.

1. Scope of Work

Concept: Your commissioned artwork will be tailored to your vision. You’ll collaborate with Robert Moore to define the title or theme and specifics such as size, medium, and completion deadline.

Customization: Each piece is designed to suit your preferences, whether you want a specific size, color palette, or medium (Robert works primarily in acrylic).

2. Payment Terms

Total Cost: The cost will be established based on the specifics of your commission.

Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to start the project, ensuring commitment from both sides.

Final Payment: The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the artwork, prior to delivery.

All payments are processed through Tuck Studio.

3. Revisions

Minor Revisions: Up to two rounds of minor revisions are included in the initial cost. These revisions cover small adjustments, such as changes to colors or minor details that don’t alter the artwork’s overall composition.

Major Revisions: Requests for major changes that affect composition or style may incur additional fees and could extend the project timeline. Before making any significant revisions, we’ll inform you of potential extra costs and any delay.

4. Delivery of Artwork

Delivery Method: We will work with you to determine the best delivery option. Shipping costs are the client's responsibility unless another arrangement is made.

Delivery Timeline: The artwork will be delivered by the agreed-upon date, with allowances for any necessary revisions or unforeseen delays.

5. Copyright and Usage Rights

Artist’s Rights: Robert Moore retains the copyright and reproduction rights to all commissioned artwork. This means the client is purchasing the original piece for personal display only.

Usage for Commercial Purposes: If you wish to use the artwork for commercial purposes, please reach out to us to discuss a separate licensing agreement.

6. Cancellation Policy

If you decide to cancel the commission, please note that the initial deposit is non-refundable.

7. Dispute Resolution

We aim to ensure the commission process is smooth and enjoyable. If a dispute arises, we encourage open communication to resolve it amicably. If needed, mediation or legal avenues are available.
